About This Lesson

Immigration enforcement actions continue to impact our students and the communities we serve. That’s why the AFT has developed a new checklist to help educators, school support staff, and healthcare professionals support families in creating a Family Immigration Emergency Plan. Having a family immigration emergency plan in place can help reduce stress, protect loved ones, ensure that children and family responsibilities are cared for, and make the difference in keeping someone from being deported. This resource can help to ensure immigrant families have the tools they need to stay safe and informed—before a crisis happens.
